Microrealities

"Leaving aside virtuous engineering, spectacular effects and an exasperating use of metaphoric forms, the four projects of 'Microrealities' are concerned with inserting public spaces, services and forms of entertainment where they are not usually found. The objective is to turn upside down the common perception of a station as a place of pure transit, of a shopping centre as a temple of consumerism, or a park as a small oasis of beauty dedicated to strolling: unique functions which should be safe-guarded in the already vibrant urban fabric, like that of our historical centres, but which catalyze the degradation in the marginal areas"--P.
