This book is the French translation of Sebastiano Timpanaro, <a href="http://openlibrary.org/works/OL11382656W/La_genesi_del_metodo_del_Lachmann/" title="Title"><i>La genesi del metodo del Lachmann</i></a>, Firenze 1963; it has a very useful <i>Introduction à l'édition française</i>, pages XI-XXXVII.
