About This Book
On the first day of Spring, Miss Piggy wants to take Kermit for a picnic, so she asks Rowlf, Fozzie and Gonzo to help her pick a spot. When they get to the park, they find litter, vandalism, and broken equipment. Miss Piggy talks to the park ranger, who says she can't clean up as fast as people make messes, so the Muppets decide to help by creating Operation Pretty Park. The next morning, they return with tools, garbage bags, and fresh plants, and they clean up the park. Miss Piggy is finally able to take Kermit for a picnic, and they find that lots of people have come to enjoy the clean and beautiful park. The Muppets decide to try to keep it that way.
The book ends with a message from Kermit about what we can do to keep neighborhood parks clean. Suggestions include placing litter in trash cans, refraining from picking flowers, and getting involved in local environmental groups or becoming an honorary park ranger.
