About This Book

The anthology presents the work and life of more than 130 painters and artists from the Bad Tölz-Wolfratshausen district. Most of the work comes from the private collection of more than 110 different owners and was previously not publicly accessible. The result is a new standard work that closes a gap. The richly illustrated volume describes an art journey from Ammerland, Icking via Wolfratshausen and Bad Tölz to Kochel and Walchensee. The result is an artist's dictionary for the district of Bad Tölz-Wolfratshausen, which for the first time allows exciting insights into the world of artists based here. The research wasn't simple, a claim to completeness is not given. And yet the great arch from the middle of the 17th century to the present succeeds: celebrities such as Franz Marc, Lovis Corinth and Loriot meet discoveries such as Hans Heinrich Adam, Eugenie Focke, Paul Pilgram and many others.
