Taḥqīqulansāb, mashhūr bih,Tārīk̲h̲-i Aqvām (qabāʼil)

Historical and genealogical study of Awan tribe, South Asian people of Arab origin, living in Punjab and Azad Kashmir and believe that they are the descendants of the ʻAlī ibn Abī Ṭālib, 600 (ca.)-661, fourth Caliph of Islam and are not Shia, as such a number adopt the title ʻAlvī, particularly those who migrated from East Punjab, India to Pakistan, some of them are Shia; includes description of various South Asian tribes.
