Machine readable travel documents (Doc. 9303)

Doc 9303 has been expanded to cover Machine Readable Travel Documents and is being issued in separate parts, each of which covers a different type of travel document. Part 4 presents the first edition of the International Civil Aviation Organization (ICAO) technical specifications for the machine readable crew member certificate for air crew. The specifications are published for the guidance of States and are based on the fundamental principles in Doc 9303, Part 3, to maintain the desired harmonization of basic data elements and, most importantly, machine readability.
