This book is for the lay person and student. Very easy to read and includes historical references to discoveries, scientists, chemical terms and names. It then dives into detail which can be understood to a point by the casual reader covering atom construction, gas behaviour, predicting chemical reactions, through to the excellent historical description for the Periodic Table.
A good companion book for general reference. 600+ pages
