About This Book

This report was originally intented to report on the herpetological collections made by Dr. E.W. Nelson and Edward A. Goldman in Mexico, but was enlarged to include material available at the National Museum and other American institutions. The United States National Museum received specimens of Mexican tailess amphibians from other sources such as individuals corresponding with Prof. Spencer F. Baird, as members of the Boundary Commission, Francis Sumichrast of Orizaba, Vera Cruz, a number of American institutions and an exchange of materials with the Museum d'Histoire Naturelle in Paris.
