The Teaching of Elementary English in Schools

While making no claims to originality of material, the authors have endeavoured, in a book that is short enough not to deter even the young and inexperienced teacher, to put forward some of the considered opinions of the foremost writers on the subject of the technique of teaching English.
This book was originally published for teachers in Ceylon. Since it has met with some success, and is based on principles that are sound wherever English is learnt in school, it is now offered to a wider circle of readers.
