About This Book
This is a three-volume set containing the history, geography, and genealogical information gleaned from the records of Lehigh County, PA. Until 1812, this area was incorporated within Northampton County, PA. Dr. Rhodes, an historian and author, led a committee of scholars in compiling these three volumes from original records and documents to give the researcher "all the things you ever wanted to know about Lehigh County, PA". The greatest asset, however, is to family genealogists: the painstaking compilation of the earliest immigrants and their families, carrying the family's history down at least several generations, containing dates and place of births, deaths, marriages, children, and occupations. If you have a family with roots in eastern PA, be sure to check these volumes. One drawback: the volumes have not been indexed so far.
