About This Book

Conceived as a glossary, this publication examines the spaces, nations, and communities created by artists or individuals to develop alternative modes of living. The title itself is a free contraction of utopias, topic, topos, and pics. All the proposals galthered here are simultaneously real and utopic: by inventing identity signs (flags, constitutions, etc.), practicing naturism, terrorism, or collectivism, by working at the boundaries of reality, they challenge our definitions of normalcy and territoriality.
