About This Book

The theme of the articles in this issue is increasing profitability in farming, whether it is increasing the markets for agricultural products due to improved transportation, reduction of farm labor, ice cold storage on the Canadian farm, or improving the quality of egg production. Also printed in this issue is a short story by Stephen Leacock, and the annual public speaking contest prize winning speech. Campus events are the At Home promenade, and the sports of baseball, basketball, hockey, and an indoor meet. The Macdonald column features a poem called the Charge of the Mac Brigade. Additional content of the column is an article about whether the students are interested in the women's suffrage movement, the results of the At Home promenade, and the initiation of the new students. The Schools' and Teachers' Department column contains the fourth lesson in woodworking. Alumni news, including wedding and birth announcements, is in the Alumni column.
