"Lemos (b. 1920), a native of Lisbon, has lived in São Paulo since 1953. A pioneer of surrealism in Portugal, he gradually distanced himself from Breton and surrealism altogether and started producing humorous drawings in tune with new graphic alternatives. He published his b/w drawings in Revista Manchete, Revista da Semana, and Revista Sombra, some illustrating literary texts.
