The legend of Grace Roscoe

Set in the 18th century, this is a true story of Grace Roscoe who was only fourteen when she was made an heiress to her uncles' John and James Hardman's vast fortune, and the Allerton Hall estate in Liverpool. Grace's uncles had made their money from racketeering and slavery and believed they could marry her off to a well-connected family in order for them to gain admission into the society they both craved.
