About This Book
For its 2019 edition, the Bullock Lecture Series proposes a program dedicated to the reflection of public policies in the local and global museological field. This fourth edition was preceded by "Critical Museology" (2015), "Museology, memory and representation policies" (2016) and "The museum-forum: museum spaces for the intolerant world" (2018). In this edition, academics and researchers raise the urgent issue of creating public policies for and from museums from three guiding concepts: autonomy, theories and practices of museum decolonization, and also the denormalization of museological atavisms, located above all in matters of accessibility, gender and ways of working. The study of specific cases was emphasized, as well as the creation of knowledge exchange networks. "This publication brings together a selection of the most outstanding texts of the "William Bullock" Extraordinary Lecture Series of Critical Museology. (HKB Translation) --Page 15.
