About This Book

A Russian children's book set in Australia. A fantastical tale of Grishka, a Russian boy who propelled himself to Australia by jumping on a plank of wood. He is greeted on 'the wild Australian shore' by a cockatoo, a parrot and a native of Papua New Guinea. Grishka's adventures in Australia involve monkeys, a kiwi, kangaroos and an emu, on which he makes his escape from the Papuans who have taken a fancy to the young boy's umbrella and luggage.
