Self-instruction manual for shamisen and kabuki-style dance: the songs in this manual are all hauta, a type of popular, short lyric song. Each leaf has a dance master's name, the title and song lyrics, shamisen music notation (in red), and dance instructions (illustrated with dancing figures and written in text). The dances are from the Fujima, Nakamura, Bandō, Sawamura, and Nishikawa schools of kabuki dance.
