Cautivos en Chan-Santa-Cruz

Document drafted by the Sociedad Patriotica Yucateca explaining the formation of the society in response to Indian brutalities in Yucatan State, Mexico, and signed by the secretary of the Society. The document was circulated to various legal and religious bodies for support and was signed by a number of them. The document also includes a list of captives held by the Indians, "Relacion de algunas de la personas cautiva entre las indios bárbaros, cuyos nombres hemos podido averiguar con algun trabajo" dated "Mérida, Dbre. 20 de 1878;" and a summary of the atrocities conducted by the Indians, "Algunos rasgos de crueldad de los barbaros."
