About This Book
Hi,
I am Gus Green's daughter Penelope Haskell currently residing in Dunedin, Florida. This book is about my father's world war 2 experiences. My parents divorced when I was a baby and I did not meet Gus until I was 33 years old. Since we lived on different continents and my hurt and anger over the feelings of abandonment, I found it difficult to have a relationship with him. He sent me the first copy of Water Wings which he signed, my children and some friends read the book but I foolishly refused to read it as an act of rebellion for the many years of unresolved issues. After his death I looked for my copy of Water Wings which was nowhere to be found and I felt such remorse for being so foolish. I am now happy to have found your website and am happy to report I have purchased both of Dad's novels and will rad them both with pride. Having been told over the years that I should write and that I have a talent for doing so, perhaps this means that I received more from my absent father than I realize.
