A plague that turns those infected into montsters is raging through Manhattan. At the center of it all are Alex Mercer, a scientist infected by his own experiments, and two NYPD homicide detectives who set out to solve a mass murder and find themselves fleeing for their lives as they uncover the past of the Genetech Corporation and the reason the American government will kill to keep that past secret.
