Dimensions of macroeconomics

"Macro-Theory," wrote Fritz Machlup a decade ago, "so far as it is not econometric, seems simpler than micro-theory." This is no longer the case. During the last three or four decades, economists have been discovering with considerable excitement many new dimensions to macroeconomics, all of which have great exploratory potential.
