About This Book
Fifty years ago, in the morning of Friday, August 27, 1965, Le Corbusier died while bathing in the waters of the Mediterranean. A final banquet that was like an endura proper to the Albigensian tradition, a virtuous act in which the spirit was freed from matter. The commemoration of the fiftieth anniversary of death, which undoubtedly is the most important teacher of twentieth century architecture, makes 2015 a true Corbusier year, and gives rise to a series of studies, research and symposiums in different architectonic environments around the world, because the influence of Le Corbusier extends all over the world. Within this collective commemoration, the Research Group in History of Architecture IALA of the Universidade da Coruña organized the Le Corbusier days 2015-1965. Modernity and Contemporaneity, where the presences and absences of the Corbuserian legacy were exposed and debated. This book is ther outcome of that experience.
