Eduardo Noriega struggles financially with running the family estate in Spain. He's also responsible for the farm, his mother and Maria, a family servant. When some furniture is in need of urgent renovation friends recommend Claire, who travels to Casona de la Esquina from England - despite the expense involved. Her arrival upsets Elena, a neighbour's daughter, who imagined waltzing down the aisle with Eduardo. Claire does her job, uncovers an intriguing family secret...and changes everyone's plans, including her own.
