The India Museum, 1801-1879

One of the public attractions in London for much of the 19th century was the India Museum formed by the East India Company to house and display artefacts, natural history specimens and the raw products of the Indian sub-continent. This book chronicles the history of the museum from its development, to closure and the dispersal of its collections.
