This book begins with a description of the origin of the older medical terms. The author then shows how, by following a few simple rules, complex modern words can be split up into their components and their meaning readily derived. In the second part of the book, words are arranged according to the ideas which they represent - colour, texture, movement, feeling etc. which emphasizes synonyms, antonyms and shades of meaning.--From back cover.
