Fred A. Geier, 1866-1934

Ancestry is traced to Johann Just Geyer who was buried at Kautenbach, Germany in 1765. One of his descendants, Friedrich Gottfried Geier (1810-1877), was born in Bosenbach and married Luise Rheinberger in 1834 at Neuenkirchen. They later immigrated to New Orleans in 1851, soon after moving to Cincinnati, Ohio. His grandson, Frederick A. Geier was born in Cincinnati, son of Philip and Louise Otten Geier. He later married Amanda Virginia Mayer, born in Henderson, Kentucky in 1866, daughter of Virginius Marius Mayer and Charlotte Lotze Mayer. He married (2) Juliet Esselborn in 1903. He was influential in his community and the machine tool industry.
