Axel Lieber

Axel Lieber uses everyday objects, takes them apart, alienates their materiality, shrinks them in scale or inflates them. He gives the objects created in this way a new content, and presented in the ensemble, confers them with new contextual meaning. Axel Lieber is an artist who is proficient in the classic sculptural techniques and provides the traditional concept of sculpture with a new dimension. In a wonderful, 120- page picture series, "The long way home" presents numerous works from the past 25 years, taking the reader on a tour through the installations and parallel worlds in which important characteristics of his overall work are illustrated.
