Daphne, devoted to caring for her siblings, is excited when her brother inherits a title and a Cornwall estate, and tells no one about its supernatural element: an ethereal nighttime visitor. Either he is alive or someone else is killing and mutilating young women. While exploring, Daphne becomes trapped in a cave and Charles comes to her rescue, leading the two strangers straight into marriage to avoid scandal.
