About This Book
Persian, the Iranian language, remained the official language of India during the Moghul rule. Even during India's occupation by British colonial rulers, the use and learning continued even among the educated Hindu community of North India (Delhi, U.P. etc.). Many famous Urdu poets like Mirza Ghalib and his contemporaries - and later 'Allama Dr. Iqbal - normally composed poetry in Persian. Likewise many scholars contributed literary prose and research material in Persian language.
This book deals with the contribution of Indians towards enriching Persian literature and criticism.
