About This Book
This elegant edition is a retrospective that resumes 30 years of artistic production of abstract painter, sculptor, ceramist and engraver Sergio Hernández (b. Oaxaca, México 1957), a prolific artist who is part of a 20th century generation of Oaxaqueño painters. His figurative and abstract artwork is somehow described as primitivism and reflects a recurring tendency for monochromatic tones and the use of folkart and textile geometric motifs. The artist describes this book as an autobiography "Finally, is the story of my life, of my childhood, of love, of all the beings with whom we coexist, like in a film" and covers from his early work "El olor de las frutas" (1978-1979) to present times. Edition and selection of work by Miguel Cervantes and Germaine Gómez Haro.
