About This Book
Autobiography of Julia Fisher Hamilton who was born on February 3, 1897 in Boulder, Colorado and grew up in Missoula, Montana and Seattle, Washington. After college she taught English at Canton Christian College in Guangzhou (referred to as Canton), China during the early 1920s where she met her husband, Maxwell M. Hamilton, who was with the United States Foreign Service. Maxwell later worked for the State Department's Far Eastern Bureau and later held various other diplomatic positions. The Hamiltons lived in China, Washington, D.C. and Virginia before moving to Palo Alto, California. Shortly after Max's death in 1957, Julia moved back to Seattle. Covers various diplomatic trips to China, Japan, and Finland. Discusses Julia's involvement with the Moral Re-Armament during the late 1950s to the early 1960s.
