About This Book

Graphic chronicle of voyage through the world of "Quisqueya" which starts in Washington Heights, on plane to the Dominican Republic, travel throughout the D.R., ending in Haiti. The author/illustrator, Ingo Giezendanner, alias GRRRR, "has been documenting the urban spaces in which he has travelled and lived. Apart from his native city of Zurich, his travels have taken him to diverse cities from New York and New Orleans to Cairo, Nairobi, Karachi, Colombo, Dominican Republic and Haiti. Everywhere he travels, he captures his surroundings on location with pen on paper." For this graphic chronicle, inspired by the color of the "Quisqueya world", Giezendanner uses color for the first time in his works. His previous publications include GRR5: Seattle / San Francisco (1999), GRR8: Zürich (2002), GRR20: Die Bau Zeitung (2004), GRR23: DESIGN (2004), GRR30: urban recordings (2006).
