Gretchen and Gary Grape learn What a grape can be

Grape Grower Grady overhears Gretchen and Gary Grape talking about what they will become when they are ripe. He tells them about the wide variety of grape items that a grape might be, from grocery grapes and grape jelly to grape seed oil and even vinegar. He reminds them, because of their family heritage and unique flavor, that they could become a special treat that grown-ups enjoy with snacks and dinner, and possibly a gold-medal winner.
