A history of Illinois from its commencement as a state in 1818 to 1847

This is a two volume set published as a Christmas keepsake for shareholders and friends of R.R. Donnelly's Lakeside Press and is marked as Christmas edition. Volume I was published in 1945 and Volume II in 1946. The binding color changes every 25 years. Books measure 4-1/2"x7" and have gilded top edges. They are edited by noted historian Milo Quaife. Over 700 collective pages.
