Counterinsurgency in Uruzgan 2009

This paper is a synopsis of the second Australian Army's Mentoring and Reconstruction Task Force's (MRTF-2) approach to counterinsurgency and its application to two deliberate operations. Presented are lessons learned and techniques developed during their mission of providing security for the Afghan national elections, and the strategic goal of developing the capacity of the 4th Brigade of the Afghan National Army (ANA).
