The PhD program in Art and Architecture of the National University of Colombia is divided in four lines of research: Art history, History of architecture and the city, Aesthetics and criticism, and Architectural project. The final examination and the thesis project are the two PhD requirements for any candidate during the third semester. The final examination in particular is an academic rite that reaffirms the student in their lien of investigation and their approach to specific topics, while at the same time, is a trail of problems to be resolved. This number of "Textos" presents eight graduation exams of qualification: four in the division of research of History and Theory of the Architecture and the City, and four in the division of research of Aesthetic and Criticism.
