Das 1972 bis 1985 errichtete Neubaugebiet Gera-Lusan war das größte des Bezirkes. Christoph Liepach had darüber mit Zeitzeu-gen gesprochen und Archive durchforstet. Sein Buch zeigt ein exemplarisches Beispiel für den DDR-Wohnungsbau. Liepach rekonstruiert den Ablauf des Baugeschehens, erzählt von der schwierigen Angangszeit und dem Engagement der Einwohner ebenso viw von Planungsschwierigkeiten und daraus folgenden Konsequenzen.
