About This Book

More than an exhibition, the 32nd Panorama is a platform for discussion and decanting of artistic processes. It is a reflection on the state of contemporary art that assumes, especially in the last decade, a time increasingly accelerated. The exhibition comprises works by 38 artists and was curated by Cauê Alves, doctor of philosophy from the University of São Paulo and professor at PUC-SP and Cristina Tejo, master in social communication from the Universidade Federal de Pernambuco, revealing a diversified production. What unites the works is the idea of movement, of circular intensely for places, among people, with great exchange of information. The ease of locomotion and communication brings up a fluid world, a globalized world, where artists moving from Brazil and around the world, a contemporary world increasingly fast-paced, connected and without borders. "Itineraries + Itinerancies" addresses two temporalities: rapid response, immediate to a precursor, and the decanting of long-term processes, such as residences, living together in groups, formation of networks. The exhibition is one of the instances where this pause occurs. Among the proposals the Panorama 2011's invitation to some artists to work together with the Education Department of MAM, aiming to discuss the role of pedagogical work in museums.
