About This Book
The publication provides insight into current tendencies and topics of contemporary art production by presenting the work of eleven international artists living in Berlin: Bettina Allamoda, Diana Artus, Olga Balema, Fritz Balthaus, Mariechen Danz, Christine Sun Kim, Wolf von Kries, Sandra Schäfer, Roman Schramm, Heidi Sill, and Sophie-Therese Trenka-Dalton. 'Hours and Hours of Inactivity' puts the generous diversity of the artistic works at the fore and spans photography, film, video, and drawing, to sculpture, and installation. The exhibition uncovers diverging queries and temporalities within the distinct artists' work, including a conglomerate of long-term investigations and serial gestures, surprise encounters and forgotten ephemera. The wide range of techniques and issues investigated reflects politicially and culturally as well as art historically relevant subjects. Exhibition: Neuer Berliner Kunstverein, Germany (04.03-30.04.2017).
