Sons of the suburbs

Proof sheet of poem that had been submitted to the 1916 Christmas issue of the magazine "Blighty" which was distributed freely to British troops in the first World War. The editors were upset by some of the content and asked Kipling to alter the piece which he refused to do. The poem was never published and Kipling was never paid for his contributions to the magazine.
