Master of Craigraven

In the bitter aftermath of the Jacobite rising of 1745, a Scotsman lies imprisoned in the dreaded Bridge Hole at Inverness. His brother, Alan MacKenzie the master of Craigraven, believes there is just one last chance to obtain his release—by kidnapping the daughter of the English Governor. Mistakenly, he seizes Caroline Candover, who is only the Governor's poor relation, worthless as a hostage. Terrified of the ruthless Highlander and with no way of escaping him, Caroline faces two alternatives.
