Dr. Varró spent 40 years in various positions in the Department of Internal Medicine in Szeged. This book addresses the rapid development of Hungarian gastroenterology with domestic and international recognition of its success. It presents a broad outlook on the intellectual history of the twentieth century, the war, and the social movements experienced in the workforce.
