About This Book

This book serves as a guide to better punting, place kicking and drop kicking. Grantland Rice, an early 20th-century American sportswriter, noted in his Foreword for the book that: "Strong and Brodbeck demonstrate points which have been made in the book. In view of the book and film they have produced (on this topic) Strong and Brodbeck have my vote for an All-American team in teaching the real know-how of football kicking." In the Introduction for this book, the authors noted: "The purpose of this book is to help players utilize to advantage a long-neglected phase of football offense and defense. That phase is the planned kick-the kick that is conceived, controlled and executed as carefully as any running or passing play."
