About This Book

The book compiles historical information about housing policy in Chile in the 1950's, focusing on the testimonies of the inhabitants of the "Timeless City" of Villa Frei (1965 - 1968), a residential complex designed by architects Jaime and Osvaldo Larraín and Diego Balmaceda. By request of the Caja de Empleados Particulares in 1965, and designed especially for the middle class, the architects developed a housing complex with more than 1,900 homes in in diverse buildings surrounded by large sections of public space and green areas.
