Sir Ludwig had rescued me after my "accident." But I remembered nothing about that--or myself.

Now ensconced in Sir Ludwig's palatial home I had become the object of much gossip. I knew immediately that I was used to ft. I had been held up as a bad example before. I was used to a lot of things. Like ordering servants about. Like enjoying luxurious surroundings.

But who I had been I had not the faintest idea. What idea I did have was about Sir Ludwig and how I was making him fall in love with me. He had kissed me once and I knew I had known passion before.

Was I a harlot, or just a greedy woman bent on finding a safe harbor? Or was I respectable? Someone Sir Ludwig might want to marry.

I knew only that I had to find my past--and quickly...
