About This Book
"Michael Wexionius-Gyldenstolpe (1609-1670), the first Professor of History and Politics and an eminent figure at the Academy of Turku during its first decades, made a habit of using Latin...in letters he sent to his sons, who continued the habit in their mutual letters. The Latin letters edited in the present work were exchanged between six Gyldenstolpe brothers, sons of Michael Wexionius-Gyldenstolpe between the years 1661 and 1680. By means of this edition, it is my intentionto bring to daylight material which is valuable for the research on Swedish and Finnish history in the latter half of the seventeenth century."--Introduction, p. 9.
