About This Book

A pocket dictionary of words and phrases from all the books in the Amoy colloquial that could be obtained (in 1935), including subjects such as history, geography, astronomy, physiology, together with sermons, lecures, rituals, story books, and the entire Bible in the Revised Version. There are no Chinese characters in this dictionary, and the Chinese language is represented in romanization form, specifically in POJ (Pe̍h-ōe-jī). The romanized words are in alphabetical order. The author (1883-1958) was a Brethren missionary in South-East Asia for 40 years.
