Physiognomik und Ausdruckstheorie der Renaissance

The focus of this work is on the doctrine of physiognomy in the Renaissance and its place in both art history and the history of science. An analysis is made of the illustrated texts on physiognomy that appeared for the first time in the Renaissance, examining the influence of these works on the artists and art theory of the time.
