Art in the education of subnormal children

Art and craft techniques are suggested which allow handicapped children to express themselves through painting and craft work, in different and perhaps easier ways than in words. The development of self awareness, confidence and communication through the means of explorative creative work is discussed.
Creative techniques are suggested that will cater for the special developmental needs of special handicaps. In the second half of the book these techniques are explained in a simple manner in order to encourage parents and teachers to offer new and valuable experiences to children.
