This volume contains a subcommentary written by Padma Trinley Nyingpo (Pad+ma 'phrin-las snying-po; 1903-1960) on Jamgon Kongtrul Lodro Thaye ('jam mgon kong sprul blo gros mtha' yas; 1813-1899)'s commentary on the Lamrim Yeshe Nyingpo/The Gradual Path of the Wisdom Essence (lam rim ye shes snying po). In English, the title is commonly translated as the 'Light of Wisdom.' This text is understood to be a revealed treasure (gter ma), revealed in the 19th century by the treasure revealer Chokgyur Lingpa (mchog gyur gling pa; 1829-1870) and Jamyang Khyentse Wangpo ('jam dbyangs mkhyen brtse'i dbang po; 1820-1892). The Light of Wisdom contains diverse exegeses on the entirety of the Vajrayana Buddhist path.
